Oranges & Lemons:
The Vector Graphic

The 22K animated GIF at right was exported from a vector graphic file built by Dave Bregande, Greg Singer, and me, John Hedges, using both CorelDraw and Adobe Illustrator. As you can see, this isn't just a scanned image of the album cover! It was painstakingly drawn, traced, and layered by hand in order to produce something that can be easily and extensively manipulated and animated. Each element of the drawing is a separate object composed of lines and bezier curves.

Layers, layers, layers!

This project took a long time, mainly because I kept taking long breaks from it. Indeed, it was only because of Dave Bregande and Greg Singer that it ever got finished at all! Greg drew Colin and his upright bass by himself, and Dave put on all the missing elements and finishing touches which ended up being at least 30% of the whole drawing. And so, to these two guys, a big XTCware Thank You!  Sure, only about 20 or 30 people will ever download this file, open it, and see what a fine job you both did, but maybe that's enough.
